Welcoming Cristina and Sophie to the Inventure team

Our portfolio has been pushing hard in 2026. Our latest investment in Estonia, Roleo, just came out of stealth. Lassie announced a $75 million Series C and Capalo announced an €11 million Series A. Kaisa exited. Hamina announced a new hardware product, plus many more updates from the portfolio.

We’ve been trying to match that speed and ambition internally, adding two new team members to help us run faster. We’re proud to welcome:

Cristina Koehn, our new COO

It’s clear to us that AI is rewriting the VC investment playbook: how we source deals, spot emerging founders, and research industries. But as we were rebuilding that side of our stack, we kept asking ourselves, shouldn’t this reach further? What about everything else that keeps a fund running?

We were super happy to find Cristina, someone who’s seen both sides of the table as the VP of Operations at Kry, a Partner at Picus Capital, and later working at an AI venture studio. With Cristina, we’re already spending more time with founders and less time on ops.

Sophie Mattsson, our new Investment Associate

We've welcomed Sophie Mattsson as Investment Associate in our Stockholm office. Sophie joins us from New York, where she executed cross-border M&A at Fredericks Michael & Co. with a focus on industrials and manufacturing. Before that, she got her start in early-stage investing in São Paulo with Caravela Capital, backing Latin American founders from Pre-Seed to Series A. We love her Dare To Win attitude.

We built conviction due to the fantastic founding team, including Janer Gorohhov, previously co-founder of the unicorn Veriff; early Wise engineer Vahur Hansen; and founding designer Sigrid Sitnikov, previously from Bolt.

Lassie announced a $75 million Series C from Felix, Balderton, Stena Sessan, Passion and Inventure to accelerate expansion across Europe’s largest pet insurance markets.

Our team had the unique chance to evaluate Lassie twice. First when Inventure led the Seed, and again when Magda led the Series B during her time at Balderton. On our blog, Linus and Magda shared their thoughts on what made us build conviction in the team - twice.

Capalo announced an €11 million Series A led by our friends at Heartcore Capital, coming on the back of their €3.8 million Seed last year. With it, they’re building Europe’s backbone for battery storage optimization trading.

We celebrated the last exit event for Inventure I, a 2008 vintage fund, as Monterro acquired a majority stake in Kaisa. Inventure’s Sami Lampinen shared a few insights on the journey on our blog.
